Forklift Operator
Location: New Iberia, LA
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hrs/week + possible overtime (some weekends)
Assignment Length: 1 year (potential to convert to full-time)
Pay Rate: $17-20/hr
About the Role A warehouse and yard operation is seeking a dependable Forklift Operator to support daily material‑handling activities. This role involves operating heavy equipment, organizing inventory, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This position is 100% onsite.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload materials arriving by truck, barge, and rail.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
- Perform daily preventive maintenance on forklifts.
- Accurately complete bills of lading.
- Inspect and verify all incoming products for correct quantity and condition.
- Move palletized materials through shrink‑wrap systems.
- Position and move rail cars for loading and unloading using track‑mobile equipment.
- Store finished products in designated areas.
- Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness throughout the warehouse and yard.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in warehouse or operations environment preferred
- Ability to meet “very heavy” physical demands
- Routine exposure to temperature extremes, noise, confined spaces, and elevated heights
- Must pass a motor vehicle record check
- No DOT requirement
