Our Client, a Global Oil and Gas Operator, is seeking a HSE Specialist – Emergency Management (Perth based) for a 2-year contract with potential to extend.

The HSE Specialist will be part of the OE Execution team, based in Perth reporting to the HSE Manager – OE Execution. The position is responsible for the execution of Emergency Management (EM) processes and safeguards across the Australian Business.

Provides technical expertise, strategies, and operational guidance to strengthen Emergency performance and capability. Supports Crisis Management, Emergency Response, Oil Spill and Business Continuity. Assists field teams in maintaining EM processes and safeguards. The role will be required to regular site travel Chevron site locations, Barrow Island, Onslow and Wheatstone Platform, including leave coverage (minimum. 8-10 weeks / year).

Additionally, the HSE Specialist – Emergency Management will be:
  • Providing HSE advice and guidance to OE leadership and execution teams with a strong focus on practical application of workforce safety and health and environmental compliance
  • Undertaking safeguard assurance verification and validation activities for Emergency Management
  • Building productive working relationships across HSE, Australia and Asset Leadership, Business Partners and other support teams to facilitate alignment and execution efficiency of HSE activities and processes.
To be considered for this role, applicants need to have:
  • Demonstrated practical application of emergency management process requirements and relevant Australian HSE legislation (safety and environment).
  • Practical understanding of OE management system and Human and Organizational (HOP) concepts, to support fatality and serious incident prevention efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and build respectful and trusted relationships with a variety of stakeholders including site leaders and the broader workforce including frontline personnel and business partners to streamline and standardise Emergency Management execution in Australia
  • Demonstrated ability to be a visible HSE professional that adjusts communication styles to influence improvements in fatality and serious incident prevention efforts s.
Must have skills:
  • Qualifications in HSE
  • Minimum 7 years of HSE experience, with minimum 5 years in Emergency Management (site experience preferred)
  • Experience of working in a resource sector, in health, safety and emergency management
  • Experience working on an oil and gas facility
