Brisbane based | Mix of office and field work | Permanent role

NES Fircroft are proud to be partnering with a leading provider of technical and operational services to the energy and industrial sectors, supporting assets and projects across Australia. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join their Brisbane-based team. This role will suit a practical, people-focused safety professional who enjoys being close to operations and influencing safety and quality outcomes through strong engagement, coaching, and visible leadership.

The Role
As an HSEQ Advisor, you will work closely with operational teams to promote safe, compliant, and high-quality work practices across both workshop and field environments. The role offers a genuine balance between office-based activities and time spent in the field, allowing you to remain connected to day-to-day operations.

You will play an important role in supporting leaders and frontline teams, contributing to incident prevention, improving systems, and reinforcing a positive safety culture.

Key Focus Areas
  • Providing on-the-ground HSEQ support to operational teams
  • Supporting leaders with safety leadership and risk-based decision making
  • Assisting with incident investigations and follow-up actions
  • Participating in site inspections, safety observations, and assurance activities
  • Contributing to safety communications, toolbox talks, and workforce engagement
  • Supporting injury management and return-to-work processes
  • Assisting with environmental and quality compliance activities
  • Contributing to internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintaining accurate HSEQ records and reports
Qualifications/Skills required:
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
  • Solid experience in safety or HSEQ roles within energy, resources, construction, or heavy industry
  • Practical knowledge of risk management, investigations, and safety systems
  • Experience working within ISO-aligned management frameworks
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels
  • Willingness to travel for periods as part of field-based work
Desirable qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS, Quality, Environment, or a related discipline
  • Auditor training or quality systems experience
  • Background supporting geographically spread or field-based teams
