Job Title: Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician
Location: Hillsboro, Oregon
Pay Rate: $42
Schedule: Full-time
Travel: Occasional travel to customer sites and regional plants
On-Call: Rotating on-call status; overtime, holiday, and after-hours work required

Position Overview
The I&E Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment in an industrial environment. This role also supports the operation of air separation and bulk gas generation plants to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Adhere to company safety policies and operating practices.
    • Perform lock-out/tag-out and generate energy control plans.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and FDA-QA/SIS testing requirements.
    • Operations & Maintenance:
      • Start up, operate, and maintain air separation and bulk gas delivery systems.
      • Troubleshoot shutdowns and perform corrective maintenance for plant restarts.
      • Schedule and execute preventive maintenance on system components.
      • Instrumentation & Electrical Work:
        • Install, calibrate, and maintain industrial instrumentation and analyzers (control valves, transmitters, gas chromatographs, purity analyzers).
        • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC/DCS systems and electrical systems (<600V), including motors, UPS systems, breakers, and transformers.
        • Read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
        • Project & Customer Support:
          • Execute projects to improve facility reliability and availability.
          • Engage with customers and complete compliance training for site access.
          • Oversee contractors and ensure safe execution of work.
            Qualifications
            • Education & Experience:
              • Technical degree (Associate or Bachelor’s) or formal apprenticeship program; equivalent experience considered.
              • Minimum 5+ years in instrumentation, controls, electrical systems, and industrial maintenance.
            • Technical Skills:
              • Proficient in troubleshooting 4–20mA transmitters, electro-pneumatic loops, and industrial control components.
              • Knowledge of regulatory standards and codes.
              • Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and man lifts.
              • Skilled in Microsoft Office, Adobe, HMIs, CAD, and control logic editing.
              • Soft Skills:
                • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
                • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
