Core Responsibilities & Required Skills
Primary Technical Expertise
- Advanced proficiency with ESRI’s GIS software ecosystem, including installation, configuration, administration, and lifecycle management.
- Strong GIS Platform Engineering skillset with the ability to design, build, deploy, optimize, maintain, and secure a high‑availability enterprise GIS environment.
- Hands-on experience monitoring and tuning GIS environments using ArcMonitor and similar monitoring tools.
ESRI Platform Competencies
- Deep operational knowledge of key ESRI components:
- Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE/Enterprise Geodatabases, GeoEvent Server, Image Server, Field Maps, Survey123, and related mobile applications.
- Skilled in system troubleshooting, performance optimization, patching, upgrades, and resource management.
Highly Desired Additional Skills
- Enterprise Geodatabase (SDE) administration, including database design, tuning, spatial analysis, replication, and versioning.
Experience working with industry-standard data models, such as:
- ESRI Utility Network
- PODS (Pipeline Open Data Standard)
- UPDM (Utility & Pipeline Data Model)
GIS programming and automation experience using:
- Python (ArcPy)
- ESRI JavaScript API / Experience Builder
- REST API
- SQL
- Experience developing and supporting ETL workflows between GIS systems using FME Desktop/Server.
- Ability to develop custom GIS tools, extensions, integrations, and mobile workflows.
- Strong understanding of spatial data analysis, integration, modeling, and quality management.
- Experience working within Agile development and delivery methodologies.
- Experience deploying, managing, and scaling Enterprise GIS systems in Azure cloud environments.
- Oil & Gas industry experience is strongly preferred.
