Overview
The IT Project Manager will oversee and execute field-based IT installation projects across Oil & Gas sites, with a focus on deploying video surveillance systems, access management technologies, and additional IT hardware. This is a hands-on project management role that requires both field familiarity and strong technical oversight abilities.
The ideal candidate brings several years of IT project management experience, particularly involving hardware deployment in industrial or Oil & Gas environments. This role involves coordinating field teams, managing vendors, overseeing installations, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering projects on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead end-to-end execution of hardware installation projects at Oil & Gas field sites.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, resources, budget tracking, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate installation of video surveillance systems, access control systems, network equipment, servers, and related IT hardware.
- Ensure projects are delivered according to established standards, operational requirements, and safety procedures.
- Work directly with field technicians, vendors, and site personnel to ensure successful onsite deployments.
- Oversee physical installation, configuration, and testing of cameras, access management hardware, and other IT infrastructure.
- Ensure installations meet technical specifications and integrate properly with existing systems.
- Resolve onsite technical challenges and escalate issues where necessary.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between project teams, field operations, IT departments, and third-party vendors.
- Coordinate scheduling, permits, and site access with Oil & Gas operations teams.
- Communicate project updates, issues, and changes clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Negotiate changes in scope, budget, and timeline as required.
- Lead cross-functional project teams and ensure all team members understand deliverables and expectations.
- Provide direction and support to field crews performing hardware installations.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, particularly for Oil & Gas environments.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to field installations, environmental conditions, and equipment compatibility.
- Maintain change control processes and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
- Proactively solve operational problems and coordinate corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed documentation for installation procedures, configurations, project progress, and post-installation validation.
- Prepare and present status reports, risk logs, and field observations.
- Support audits, quality checks, and compliance reviews as needed.
- 5–10 years of IT project management experience, ideally involving hardware deployment.
- University Degree in a related field.
- Direct, hands-on experience with video surveillance (CCTV) and access management systems installations.
- Experience working in Oil & Gas field environments is strongly preferred.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of IT system components, networking, and physical security technologies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in dynamic field settings.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Experience working with or for security companies is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to travel to local and regional field sites as required.
