Key Responsibilities Safety, Health & Environmental Stewardship
  • Maintain protection of the environment and ensure the health and safety of employees, customers, and the surrounding communities.
  • Participate in safety systems, including planned inspections, job observations, near‑miss reporting, incident investigations, and area audits.
  • Follow all emergency procedures outlined in the Emergency Response Plan and laboratory protocols.
  • Understand the location and proper use of emergency equipment within the lab and sampling areas.
  • Adhere to the Chemical Hygiene Plan and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Daily Operations & Communication
  • Participate in daily operations meetings to communicate updates related to safety, environmental compliance, quality, and key performance metrics (KPMs).
  • Provide strong internal and external customer service, reporting and resolving issues as necessary.
Laboratory Procedures & Analysis
  • Maintain training, skills, and qualification standards required for laboratory procedures and processes.
  • Develop laboratory procedures as needed and perform all analyses outlined in Laboratory Procedure Manuals and Quality Manuals.
  • Conduct environmental and quality control sampling, and verify the accuracy of field operations sampling.
  • Support quality systems through statistical verification of instrument operability and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other chemists/analysts to troubleshoot analytical procedures and instrumentation issues.
Operational Excellence & Housekeeping
  • Ensure proper labeling of all samples and chemicals.
  • Perform required housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient laboratory environment.
  • Initiate corrective actions for process, safety, or environmental deficiencies.
  • Provide attention to detail and dedication to ensure site reliability and high‑quality output.
Laboratory Services & Support
  • Support the lab service function including:
    • Sample storage
    • Packaging and shipping of samples
    • Stockroom support for the lab and plant
    • Sampling services
    • Maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Assist with special projects as needed and as workload allows.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Complete additional duties assigned by Plant Management to support operations and business needs.
