Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced All-Around Machinist to join our team. This role is responsible for machining new tools and reworking or maintaining existing tools (molds, dies, fixtures) used in the production of molded rubber products. The ideal candidate will have strong CNC programming and machining skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities
  • Machine new and rework existing molds, dies, fixtures, and maintenance parts.
  • Program and operate CNC mills and lathes using Edgecam or similar CAD software from scratch without assistance.
  • Operate manual mills, lathes, and surface grinders; inspect work for quality before release.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions and machining requirements.
  • Calculate and set machining parameters (speed, feed, depth, angle).
  • Safely transport molds and raw materials between plant and storage locations.
  • Maintain tool inventory and ensure a clean, safe machine shop environment.
  • Train other employees and share technical knowledge.
  • Adhere to all State, Federal, and Company safety and work standards.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience machining tools, molds, dies, and fixtures for rubber manufacturing or equivalent.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proficient in CNC programming and operation (mills and lathes).
  • Skilled in using hand measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, depth gauges).
  • Forklift and crane certifications.
  • Ability to pass machinist test with 85% accuracy.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Preferred:
  • CNC/machine-specific certifications.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist; carry up to 35 lbs single-handed and 50 lbs two-handed.
  • Traverse ladders, stairs, and uneven surfaces at varying heights.
  • Operate motor vehicles with a valid driver’s license.
  • Good balance, depth perception, color vision, and hearing.
  • Ability to handle tools weighing up to 25 lbs and generate 50 lbs of force for push/pull tasks.
