Title: Production Welder
Location: Lafayette, LA 70507
Pay Rate: $23/hr ST | $35/hr OT
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 40 hours/week | Standard weekly timesheets



Position Summary
Under direct supervision and working with an assigned mentor, the Associate Production Welder performs standard welding operations that support the manufacturing of parts and assemblies. Responsibilities include welding, brazing, part preparation, cleanup, labeling, cutting, and hardfacing in a highly regulated, quality‑driven environment. The role requires safe use of welding equipment, lifting devices, overhead cranes, and material‑handling tools, while consistently adhering to all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform welding, brazing, part prep, post‑braze cleanup, final cleanup, labeling, cutting, and hardfacing.
  • Use specified welding and material‑handling equipment to support manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain equipment properly, including cranes, lifting devices, and handling tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and use precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform manufacturing math calculations and operate specialized lifting equipment.
  • Conduct post‑work inspection and provide assistance to others as directed.
  • Follow all HSE standards and safe welding practices at all times.

Required Skills & Competencies
  • Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Competence with precision measurement tools.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing math and welding processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use computers as needed for job duties.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding, noisy environment.  

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in welding or related manufacturing work.
  • 1–2 years of experience and welding certification preferred.

Work Environment
  • Heavy physical demand
  • Routine noise exposure >85 dB
  • Occasional temperature extremes, requires breathing apparatus
