Overview: We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join a major greenfield petrochemical development in Antwerp. This site-based role is critical to ensuring smooth coordination between engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams. The successful candidate will help drive the project from construction through to mechanical completion and handover, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule targets are met.

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join a major greenfield petrochemical development in Antwerp. This site-based role is critical to ensuring smooth coordination between engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams. The successful candidate will help drive the project from construction through to mechanical completion and handover, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule targets are met.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Coordination & Interface Management
- Serve as the main link between site construction teams and engineering disciplines.
- Interpret design drawings, specifications, and project documentation to support construction.
- Manage technical queries (TQs, RFIs) and ensure timely resolution.
- Track and update site engineering deliverables.
- Provide technical support to construction teams, subcontractors, and field engineers.
- Review and approve construction work packages (CWPs).
- Monitor progress and flag design or material issues.
- Support field changes and maintain accurate as-built documentation.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Participate in inspections, quality walkdowns, and punch list activities.
- Promote site HSE standards and contribute to safety reviews.
- Assist in monitoring schedule performance and identifying deviations.
- Report on progress, metrics, and performance indicators.
- Coordinate with planning and cost control teams.
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports highlighting risks and progress.
- Liaise with commissioning teams for a smooth transition to start-up.
- Support system completion and turnover activities.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience: 5–10 years in project or construction engineering on large EPC/EPCM projects in oil & gas or petrochemicals.
- Project Experience: Greenfield or major brownfield execution (>$500MM TIC preferred).
- Technical Knowledge:
- Multidisciplinary design and construction (Civils, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, E&I).
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards (API, ASME, ASTM, ISO, etc.).
- Strong coordination and communication across stakeholders.
- Proficient in engineering drawings, P&IDs, and isometrics.
- Experience with tools like MS Project, Primavera P6, SmartPlant, Navisworks.
- Problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
