NES Fircroft are currently recruiting Project Engineers on behalf of our client, a leader in floating technologies for the oil and gas industry.  This is an initial 12-month contract with possibility of extensions, based in the Rotterdam office. Mon-Fri , 40hrs per week.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer. This role requires a proactive, methodical, and highly organized individual with strong technical coordination skills across multiple disciplines and a proven ability to manage complex interfaces in dynamic environments. Ensuring technical scope of the project is executed in compliance to contractual requirements, codes, standards and regulations within budget and schedule.

Ideally, the candidate will have FPSO industry experience and a background in process or mechanical engineering (other backgrounds will also be considered).

Key Responsibilities
  • Deputy Function:
    Act as deputy to the Engineering Project Manager, ensuring continuity of leadership, decision-making, and project momentum during absences.
  • Multidisciplinary Coordination:
    Ensure alignment across engineering disciplines (process, mechanical, electrical, structural, etc.) for timely and quality delivery of design packages and documentation.
  • Technical Integration:
    Support integration of engineering deliverables with project execution plans, safety studies, and digital tools (Aveva, etc)
  • Issue Resolution:
    Identify and resolve technical and execution issues, propose mitigation strategies, and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    Maintain accurate records, interface matrices, and progress reports; contribute to lessons learned and change management.
  • Support to Engineering Project management:
    Assist in planning, scheduling, and monitoring engineering scope, technical reviews, and milestone tracking.
Candidate Profile
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating multiple disciplines and working across various EPC project phases.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities under pressure.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools/resources
  • Proactive, methodical, and highly organized.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • FPSO industry experience preferred.
  • Background in process or mechanical engineering (other backgrounds considered).
