Position Summary The Control Room Operator is responsible for actively monitoring Apache’s upstream assets to ensure safety, performance, and operational efficiency. This role serves as the central point of contact for field operations, coordinating activities, troubleshooting issues, and supporting production strategies. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Monitoring & Surveillance
    • Continuously monitor Apache’s onshore assets, production facilities, and wells.
    • Identify abnormal operating conditions and initiate corrective actions.
    • Utilize Cygnet and ForeSite for efficiency, well optimization, and root cause analysis.
    • Participate in alarm management and rationalization.
  • Control Room Operations
    • Operate remote systems, including auto-chokes, automated equipment, switches, and valves.
    • Adhere to the “Pump by Priority” program; may perform remote pumping routes.
    • Dispatch Lease Operators and coordinate oil truck movements as needed.
  • Logistics & Coordination
    • Schedule and track crude oil pickups; maintain proper tank levels.
    • Dispatch and coordinate third-party trucking for fluid transfers (e.g., drilling brines, produced water, crude oil).
    • Organize services for field teams (construction, drilling, completions, frac fleet, flowback, production).
    • Manage disposal of fluids to appropriate facilities based on content.
  • Communication & Reporting
    • Act as liaison during emergencies and activation of Apache Incident Command System.
    • Provide daily updates to stakeholders via Teams and reports.
    • Develop and distribute reports using Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, GIS, and SAP.
  • Safety & Security
    • Monitor field camera systems for security and HSE compliance.
    • Ensure all work at Apache locations is performed safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of production, completions, workover, and drilling operations.
  • Proficiency in SCADA systems, Cygnet, ForeSite, and alarm rationalization.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize wells remotely.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI).
