Senior AWS DevOps Engineer – 6 months Contract – Gentofte, Denmark

Hybrid – 2 days on site, 3 days remote

Required :-  - Strong experience in AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, EKS, CloudWatch, IAM).  Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices, including Terraform and GitHub Actions. Proficiency in troubleshooting, monitoring and logging in a hybrid cloud setup (e.g. networking and connectivity, IAM, storage and database issues). Familiarity with AWS Landing Zone Accelerator tools to automate core service setup.  Expertise in AWS migration services (Datasync, DMS & SCT). Expertise in optimizing AWS resources for performance, security, and cost-efficiency. 
This role is integral to the AWS Migration Program, responsible for managing large-scale "volume" migrations, often supported by automation. The Senior AWS DevOps Engineer will complement this role, providing deep technical expertise. Together, they will ensure the efficient execution of migrations while maintaining compliance and alignment with my client’s cloud strategy. 

My client is in the process of migrating over 300 applications to AWS. To streamline these efforts, an AWS Migration Epic Team has been established, comprising three specialized teams   tasked with assisting with the migration of applications, databases and infrastructure from on-premises and Azure environments to AWS.

Looking to expand on the team for a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to help with the migration support for the migration using technologies such as EC2, EKS, RDS and CloudWatch, as well as 3rd party technologies such as Terraform, GitHub Pipelines and Actions, and Confluent Kafka.

My client’s IT operates under a fully Agile organizational model, structured around IT Product Lines (IPLs) and Agile Release Trains (ARTs). Close collaboration with these delivery organizations will be essential to provide the technical services and products required for the migration. The Migration teams will facilitate migration efforts utilizing standardized, reusable AWS and 3rd party technologies, while IPLs and ARTs will handle the actual execution of the migrations.

Senior AWS DevOps Engineer Key Responsibilities 

Migration and Technical Leadership:
  • Ensure the use of my client’s standard solutions and AWS technologies for all migrations. 
  • Identify and address technical gaps by liaising with internal AWS development teams. 
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient AWS solutions tailored to business and technical requirements. 
  • Oversee the migration of applications, focusing on rehosting and re-platforming activities. 

Senior AWS DevOps Engineer  Cloud Infrastructure Design and DevOps Implementation:
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and align with my clients internal AWS IPL for capacity and backlog.
  • Develop and update Terraform and GitHub Actions scripts for deployment.
  • Design and implement appropriate production monitoring and alerting in collaboration with the internal teams.

Senior AWS DevOps Engineer Security and Compliance: 
  • Ensure compliance with my client’s internal architect, and development standards and best practices. 
  • Ensure compliance with internal control framework (iSMS). 

Senior AWS DevOps Engineer Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Work closely with clients AWS IPL, Infrastructure Architects, Security and other teams to deliver integrated solutions. 
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical and business goals.

Senior AWS DevOps Engineer Preferred Qualifications:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or equivalent certifications. 
  • Experience with multi-cloud environments, particularly migrations involving Microsoft Azure. 
  • Familiarity with distributed network systems, serverless solutions, and cloud-based security.
