Our client is actively seeking an experienced Training Coordinator to join their team in Christiansted, VI (U.S.). This individual will oversee the coordination, administration and ongoing support of the organization's training and competency programs across all levels. This individual will administer the Learning Management Systems (LMS), monitor compliance and completion, and support in overall training initiatives. I. SUMMARY OF POSITION The Training Coordinator oversees the coordination, administration, and ongoing support of the Organization’s training and competency programs across all organizational levels, playing a key role in regulatory compliance, workforce readiness, and operational excellence. This role administers the Learning Management System (LMS), monitors employee and contractor training compliance, and supports training initiatives that reinforce safety as a core organizational value. Serving as a cross-functional liaison, the Training Coordinator collaborates with leadership, internal teams, and external partners to align training objectives with business priorities and safety standards, while contributing to continuous improvement efforts with professionalism, precision, and a strong team-oriented mindset, and reports directly to the Supervisor, Training.
II. REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate all training activities, including scheduling, participant communications, notifications, material preparation, and on-site or virtual session support
• Execute daily training assignments and priorities as directed by the Training Supervisor
• Serve as system administrator for the Learning Management System (LMS) and associated training platforms
• Maintain accurate, complete, and current training records, including trainee rosters, schedules, attendance records, certifications, and compliance documentation
• Prepare, generate, and distribute training, compliance, and performance reports to support operational and regulatory requirements
• Track, compile, and submit daily and weekly training and competency performance indicators to monitor effectiveness and progress
• Create invoices for contractor training services and submit documentation to the Training Supervisor and Accounting for review and recordkeeping
• Identify, understand, and comply with responsibilities outlined in the Organization’s safety systems and applicable OSHA and regulatory agency requirements
• Monitor computer lab training activities and provide technical or instructional assistance to trainees as needed
• Act as a proctor during training courses, ensuring professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and adherence to established procedures
• Develop and prepare professional training presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and related tools
• Prepare, set up, and break down training rooms and facilities to support effective learning environments
• Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and positive workplace etiquette in all interactions
• Actively support teamwork, collaboration, departmental objectives, and organizational initiatives that advance the Organization’s training goals and continuous improvement efforts The above is a summary of responsibilities for this position, and there may be other responsibilities and duties assigned by the supervisor/management
III. REQUIREMENTS
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience
• One (1) or more years of experience administering or supporting a Learning Management System (LMS) required
• Experience coordinating training, compliance, or workforce development activities preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Experience with Health and Safety Council (HASC) training platforms preferred • Experience with National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) training platforms preferred
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint, required
• Knowledge of adult education principles, adult learning theories, and instructional methodologies preferred
• Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and presentation skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate, compliant, and well-organized records
• Strong creative and conceptual thinking abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to departmental culture
• Professional and effective communication skills when interacting with trainees, internal customers, and leadership
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of the organization
• General knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) concepts and regulatory requirements
• Highly motivated self-starter with a proactive approach and willingness to assist beyond assigned duties to support departmental and organizational goals
Applicable Additional Requirements
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to obtain, or currently possess, a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
Physical Requirements
• Work is primarily performed in an office, training area, or computer lab environment
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability to push, pull, reach overhead, stoop, operate computer equipment, and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE)
