NES Fircroft are currently recruiting a part-time Administrative Assistant on behalf of our client, a leading global plant-building and life-cycle partner in the metals industry. This is an initial 12-month contract, covering maternity leave.  

This is a part-time opportunity, working 3 days (22.5hrs) per week in the Scunthorpe office.

Role Purpose
The Clerical / Administrative Assistant will provide efficient administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth day-today running of the office and operational functions within an engineering and manufacturing environment. The role will involve supporting teams with documentation, data entry, filing, communication, purchasing administration, order processing, and general office coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and record customer orders, order acknowledgements, delivery notes and invoices, and related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Complete job costings and goods issuing.
  • Supply cover for holidays and absences to complete timesheet recordings, goods receipting and service entry sheet processing.
  • Provide general administrative support to engineering, manufacturing, sales, purchasing, and operations teams.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain documents, spreadsheets, reports, order records, customer files, and internal databases.
  • Liaise professionally with internal departments, suppliers, customers, and external contacts by email and telephone.
  • Maintain accurate electronic filing systems, ensuring documents are easy to locate and kept in line with company procedures.
  • Support compliance with company procedures, health and safety requirements, quality standards, and confidentiality
  • obligations.
  • Carry out any other reasonable administrative duties as required by the business.

Required Experience:
  • Previous administration experience
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Use of Microsoft Office programs – Word, Excel etc.
