NES Fircroft is recruiting an Environmental Compliance Engineer for a leading power generation company. This hands-on role will lead air permitting and environmental compliance efforts across a fleet of power generation assets and project sites.
The successful candidate will serve as the primary environmental resource for operations, providing guidance on permitting requirements, compliance obligations, and mobilization timelines while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary environmental resource for operations, providing guidance on permitting requirements, compliance obligations, and mobilization timelines while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage air permitting activities, including permit applications, registrations, and compliance reporting.
- Develop permitting strategies to support equipment deployments and project mobilizations.
- Maintain emissions records and prepare regulatory reports and certifications.
- Oversee SPCC, stormwater, hazardous waste, and environmental compliance programs.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies.
- Support site inspections, mobilizations, and environmental readiness activities.
- Coordinate environmental consultants and testing contractors as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of environmental compliance experience with strong air permitting expertise.
- Knowledge of Clean Air Act programs, emissions calculations, and regulatory reporting.
- Familiarity with SPCC, RCRA, and stormwater permitting requirements.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Willingness to travel regularly to project sites.
- Experience with temporary or portable power generation.
- Multi-state permitting experience.
- Familiarity with CEMS, PEMS, stack testing, and emissions control technologies.
- PE, QEP, or CHMM certification.
