Site Construction Supervisor / Site Engineer
Position Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Construction Supervisor / Site Engineer to support the successful delivery of a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. The role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all on-site construction and installation activities, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The successful candidate will play a key role in site execution, working closely with contractors, subcontractors, project management teams, and other discipline leads to ensure the safe and effective delivery of project objectives. Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise day-to-day construction and installation activities on site.
  • Monitor works to ensure compliance with approved construction drawings, technical specifications, and project requirements.
  • Ensure all activities are executed in accordance with project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
  • Participate in site progress meetings and coordinate activities with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Track construction progress and prepare regular reports for the Project Manager and Site Management Team.
  • Coordinate interfaces between different disciplines and ensure alignment of activities across the project.
  • Identify, document, and report site defects, non-conformances, and contractor performance issues.
  • Support the preparation and issuance of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), punch lists, and deficiency notices.
  • Review contractor variation requests and support the evaluation of change orders and claims.
  • Assist with inspections, testing, commissioning support, and acceptance of partial and final project deliverables.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives and support corrective actions to achieve project milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate site records, documentation, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree, Diploma, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in:
    • Civil Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Construction Management
    • Or a related technical discipline
  • Alternatively, a certified Engineering Technician with significant site supervision experience will be considered.
Essential Experience & Skills
  • Demonstrable experience supervising construction and installation activities on:
    • Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects
    • Renewable energy projects
    • Power generation facilities
    • Electrical infrastructure developments
    • Large-scale industrial construction projects
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, quality control, and commissioning processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
  • Strong coordination, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficient reporting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Right to work in Germany 
  • Fluency in German Lnaguage is a plus 
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience on utility-scale BESS projects.
  • Experience working on renewable energy developments including solar, wind, hydrogen, or energy storage projects.
  • Exposure to construction projects within power transmission, substations, or grid infrastructure environments.
  • Knowledge of commissioning and energisation activities.
  • Familiarity with contractor management and quality assurance processes.
