Lease & Contracts Staff Analyst The Lease & Contracts Staff Analyst is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and accuracy of lease and contract records associated with producing and non-producing oil and gas properties. This role supports Land Operations and Land Administration by ensuring lease obligations, contract requirements, payments, and land records are properly maintained and managed. The position requires a strong understanding of land administration principles, lease terms, and contractual obligations, along with the ability to analyze data, resolve issues, and support business objectives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and enter lease and contract information into land systems to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Prepare full releases, assignments, Exhibit A documents, and other land-related documentation.
- Maintain monthly lease obligation calendars and track critical dates, including rentals, shut-in payments, minimum royalties, lease extensions, and expirations.
- Determine lease payment obligations and deadlines necessary to maintain properties in good standing.
- Conduct lease and unit reviews for shut-in wells and process associated payments for approval.
- Process ownership-related changes resulting from assignments, deeds, probate matters, and other title transactions.
- Review monthly lease obligations and provide recommendations regarding rentals, shut-in payments, minimum royalties, lease maintenance requirements, and expirations.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve routine land administration issues while escalating more complex matters as needed.
- Process lease extensions and maintain contract compliance for non-producing properties.
- Update and maintain land records, including amendments, payments, ownership changes, and supporting documentation.
- Research public and private records using online databases and resources to support lease administration activities.
- Respond to landowner inquiries and coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve issues effectively.
- Assist Land Operations with the preparation of agreements, pooling documents, communitization agreements, exhibits, and related land documentation.
- Support special projects, audits, reporting initiatives, and process improvement efforts within the Land Administration function.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company policies, procedures, internal controls, and industry best practices.
- Stay current on industry trends, land administration practices, and regulatory requirements through continuing education and professional development.
- Bachelor's degree and 0-4 years of relevant experience; or
- Eight (8) or more years of applicable land administration, lease administration, or contracts experience in lieu of a degree.
- Understanding of oil and gas land principles, lease obligations, contract administration, and land records management.
- Ability to interpret lease language, contractual provisions, and ownership documentation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with Quorum Land System, SAP, or other land management software preferred.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Oil and gas land administration or lease administration experience.
- Experience managing lease obligations, payments, ownership changes, and land records.
- Familiarity with pooling, communitization, assignments, deeds, probate documentation, and related land transactions.
- Knowledge of producing and non-producing property administration.
