Control System Commissioning Engineer

Location: Baltica 2 Project

Role Summary/Purpose 
Control System Engineer will be responsible for the commissioning of control and protection scope of 
the complex AC Substation project, including the Control and Protection Panels of all voltage levels, 
SCADA and Automation Systems, Secondary Cabling, Telecom and Remote Control Systems and all 
secondary control/LAN/FO interfaces. 
This role shall ensure that all work is executed in accordance with technical documentation, project 
schedule, quality and EHS standards. The position requires close cooperation with commissioning 
manager, C&P commissioning lead, installation teams, subcontractors and engineering staff. 
About the Project: 
Project Baltica 2 is an AC Onshore Substation Project, consisting of a 400kV GIS with 14 bays, a 275kV
GIS with 24 bays and connected systems. 
Responsibilities: 
 Make sure all EHS rules are followed during the execution of the commissioning 
 Preparation, coordination, review, and management of commissioning documentation 
for the relevant project phases to ensure that all documents are complete, accurate, 
traceable, and compliant with applicable statutory regulations, project specifications, 
approved designs, and client requirements 
 Ensuring compliance with technical documentation, local/ project requirements and 
quality standards 
 Ensuring that commissioning works are prepared and maintained in accordance with 
applicable quality, health and safety, and environmental requirements, GE EHS rules, as 
well as internal project procedures and document control standards 
 Report preparation progress and issues on weekly basis. Follow-up of the execution of 
Modification (SMF) for the control and protection package in coordination with 
Engineering modification procedure 
 Coordination of interfaces across multiple disciplines and contractors, including 
electrical, protection and control, SCADA/telecommunications, primary plant, and 
auxiliary systems 
 Participation in and documentation of commissioning meetings, technical coordination 
meetings, testing reviews, readiness reviews, and handover inspections where 
documentation input or follow-up is required 
 Ensuring that all commissioning documentation is properly completed, reviewed, 
approved where required, and handed over in accordance with project and operational 
requirements 
 Participation and assistance to the factory acceptance tests and engineering meetings 
 Reporting progress to commissioning and project manager 
 Identifying technical risks and resolving on-site issues 
 Prepare Input for weekly and monthly work progress reports and minutes of meetings 
Requirements: 
 Technical education (Electrical Engineering) 
 Prior experience in large-scale offshore-to-onshore grid infrastructure projects such as HV 
substations, STATCOM / FACTS systems and grid infrastructures 
 Knowledge about grid automation systems and/or control and protection equipment on grid 
infrastructure projects 
 Hands-on commissioning experiences 
 Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (electrical schematics, layouts)
 Strong Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) culture, with the ability to actively promote, 
enforce, and maintain safety requirements at all organizational levels. 
 MS Office skills (Excel, Word, SharePoint) 
 Strong organizational skills, structured and proactive working style 
 Ability to work under pressure 
 Good communication skills in English (written and spoken) and Polish 
 Willingness to travel and flexibility to work on large industrial construction sites 
Conditions: 
 Employment type: Contractor / leased employee (via staffing agency) 
 Assignment duration: project-based, expected 12 months minimum 
 Expected starting date: 01-Oct-2026 
 Project location: Choczewo, Poland 
 Working hours: Full-time (40h/week), overtime possible depending on project needs 
 Work environment: international team, ACS construction site in Choczewo, Poland
