Control Systems Engineer – Brisbane
NES Fircroft has partnered with a well-established and growing electrical contractor and engineering business delivering projects across the infrastructure and industrial sectors, to recruit a Control Systems Engineer. This role sits within the Water Infrastructure Business Unit in their South-West Brisbane office.
About the Role
The Water Infrastructure Business Unit’s mission is to provide turnkey solutions in electrical and control systems for capital works in Water and Wastewater Systems. Within this role, you’ll provide control systems expertise and services to deliver on project requirements, demonstrate proven capability in design, development/upgrades, programming, robust testing, and commissioning of Industrial Control and Automation Systems (PLC, HMI, and SCADA). Within this role, you’ll provide control systems expertise and services to deliver on project requirements, demonstrate proven capability in design, development/upgrades, programming, robust testing, and commissioning of Industrial Control and Automation Systems (PLC, HMI, and SCADA). Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering on project requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards, technical specifications, safety, regulatory, and environmental standards
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders and providing quality technical advice on design, implementation, installation, or commissioning queries
- Show the experience in reviewing concepts and design outputs to ensure compliance with project requirements, product functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness
- Demonstrate a strong willingness to improve on the knowledge of the Business Unit frameworks and ensure own compliance with project practices and standards
- Always demonstrate the ability in resolving technical issues, conducting investigations into and report fault finding
- Show a strong understanding or knowledge of electrical engineering capabilities/responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics engineering or equivalent
- Construction Industry White Card
- Driver’s license
- Low-Voltage experience
- Comfortable partaking in: FAT support, commissioning activities, PLC troubleshooting
- Proven capabilities in design, development/upgrades, programming, commissioning of PLC, HMI, and SCADA platforms, with experience in integration of associated communication networks and monitoring systems
- RPEQ (or on the pathway) is advantageous, eligible for membership with Engineer’s Australia and the NER
- Water Infrastructure project experience is desirable.
