Role: E&I QC Inspector / Construction Supervisor
Role Summary
Responsible for field supervision and QC inspection of Electrical & Instrumentation installation, with particular focus on hazardous-area requirements, ATEX/IECEx compliance, installation quality, testing, punch clearance and handover.
The role will work closely with Construction, QA/QC, Completions and Commissioning to ensure E&I installations are correctly executed, inspected, tested and documented in accordance with project specifications and applicable hazardous-area standards.

Role Summary
Responsible for field supervision and QC inspection of Electrical & Instrumentation installation, with particular focus on hazardous-area requirements, ATEX/IECEx compliance, installation quality, testing, punch clearance and handover.
The role will work closely with Construction, QA/QC, Completions and Commissioning to ensure E&I installations are correctly executed, inspected, tested and documented in accordance with project specifications and applicable hazardous-area standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and inspect E&I installation activities across the site.
- Verify installation against approved drawings, specifications, ITPs and hazardous-area requirements.
- Inspect electrical equipment, cable systems, glands, junction boxes, instruments, earthing/bonding and associated installations.
- Carry out detailed inspections of Ex/ATEX installations, including equipment certification, glands, entries, enclosures, seals, bonding, segregation and installation practices.
- Ensure hazardous-area installations comply with applicable ATEX/IECEx and IEC 60079 requirements.
- Review and verify equipment certificates and Ex documentation.
- Coordinate and witness electrical testing including continuity, insulation resistance and functional testing as applicable.
- Identify construction and QC deficiencies, raise punch items and drive timely closure.
- Support E&I system walkdowns, Mechanical Completion and progressive handover to Commissioning.
- Verify inspection and test records and ensure complete QC documentation for handover dossiers.
- Coordinate with Construction and EPC contractors to resolve technical and quality issues.
- Monitor contractor workmanship and challenge non-conforming or incomplete installations.
- Support energisation readiness and E&I pre-commissioning activities where required.
- Ensure all activities are executed safely and in accordance with project HSE requirements.
- 8–10+ years' experience in E&I QC inspection/construction supervision on major oil & gas, petrochemical, LNG, refining or process projects.
- Strong field experience in electrical and instrumentation installation inspection.
- ATEX / CompEx qualified — preferably CompEx Ex01–Ex04 or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of hazardous-area installation requirements and IEC 60079 standards.
- Experience inspecting Ex d, Ex e, Ex i and other protection concepts.
- Good understanding of electrical equipment, cabling, glands, junction boxes, instruments, earthing and bonding.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, layouts, cable schedules, instrument drawings and hazardous-area classification drawings.
- Experience with QC inspection, punch management, MC and system handover.
- Strong field leadership and contractor coordination skills.
- Greenfield EPC project experience preferred.
