Electrical Engineer
Our agency is looking for an Electrical Engineer on behalf of a leading facilities management provider supporting a hyperscale data center in Sedenak, Johor.
The Role
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and reliability of critical electrical infrastructure within a mission-critical data center environment. The role focuses on ensuring the continuous performance of power systems, supporting preventive maintenance activities, troubleshooting electrical issues, and maintaining safe and efficient facility operations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Operate and maintain critical electrical systems including UPS, generators, transformers, switchgear, ATS, and power distribution equipment
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting activities to ensure equipment reliability and uptime
• Monitor critical facility systems through BMS, EPMS, DCIM, or other monitoring platforms
• Respond to alarms, electrical faults, and operational incidents while supporting corrective actions
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors during maintenance, testing, servicing, and repair activities
• Maintain maintenance records, equipment logs, inspection reports, and operational documentation
• Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with site safety procedures, operational standards, and company requirements
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 3-7 years of electrical engineering experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience within a data center, mission-critical facility, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or similar operational environment
• Experience with UPS, generators, transformers, switchgear, ATS, or power distribution systems
• Familiarity with BMS, EPMS, SCADA, or DCIM monitoring systems is advantageous
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and single-line diagrams
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Willingness to work in a site-based, mission-critical environment in Sedenak, Johor
