Electrical Engineer – Brisbane
NES Fircroft has partnered with a well-established and growing electrical contractor and engineering business delivering projects across the infrastructure and industrial sectors, to recruit an Electrical Engineer. This role sits within the Water Infrastructure Business Unit in their South-West Brisbane office.
About the Role
This position will see you primarily focused on electrical engineering, design coordination, project delivery, and supporting commissioning activities, while having enough control systems knowledge to work effectively alongside PLC, SCADA, and automation specialists. You’ll take ownership of work packages from design through to commissioning, while being a strong presence across the wider business as well as on-site.

NES Fircroft has partnered with a well-established and growing electrical contractor and engineering business delivering projects across the infrastructure and industrial sectors, to recruit an Electrical Engineer. This role sits within the Water Infrastructure Business Unit in their South-West Brisbane office.
About the Role
This position will see you primarily focused on electrical engineering, design coordination, project delivery, and supporting commissioning activities, while having enough control systems knowledge to work effectively alongside PLC, SCADA, and automation specialists. You’ll take ownership of work packages from design through to commissioning, while being a strong presence across the wider business as well as on-site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver electrical engineering designs for industrial and water infrastructure projects
- Prepare and review SLDs, MCC & switchboard designs, cable schedules, load lists, calculations, and specifications
- Support the delivery of power distribution, motor control, VSD, instrumentation, and control systems
- Participate in design reviews, FATs, SATs, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities
- Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, site personnel, and project teams
- Work alongside project manager with planning, risk management, and technical delivery.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
- White Card
- Driver’s license
- Low-Voltage experience
- Strong electrical design experience in industrial, infrastructure, mining, utilities, or water projects
- Practical understanding of PLC and SCADA systems
- Comfortable partaking in: FAT support, commissioning activities, basic PLC troubleshooting
- Exposure to Schneider, Siemens, Rockwell, Citect, Ignition, WinCC, or similar
- RPEQ (or on the pathway) is advantageous
- Water Infrastructure experience is desirable.
