Field Service Supervisor – Data Center Electrical Systems
Northern Indiana | Local Travel

I’m partnering with a global electrical equipment manufacturer that is building out a new U.S. Field Service operation to support major data center projects across Northern Indiana.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Field Service or Commissioning professional to step into a leadership position, combining hands-on technical responsibility with the day-to-day management of Field Service Engineers and Technicians.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead equipment startup, troubleshooting, commissioning, and post-commissioning support.
• Review drawings, schematics, FAT documentation, wiring, and system configuration prior to energization.
• Oversee receiving inspections, installation verification, pre-power-up checks, and equipment energization.
• Troubleshoot electrical and control systems and perform root cause analysis.
• Support functional testing, Integrated System Testing, and final system handover.
• Lead and coordinate Field Service Engineers and Technicians across active projects.
• Manage daily workloads, manpower, project priorities, safety, and quality.
• Coordinate directly with General Contractors, commissioning teams, vendors, and project stakeholders.
• Oversee local field service operations including tools, materials, inventory, and logistics.
• Provide technical mentorship and act as the first point of escalation for field issues.

What We’re Looking For
• 5+ years of experience within field service, commissioning, startup, or industrial electrical systems.
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
• Strong knowledge of switchgear, control panels, PLC/HMI systems, VFDs, and electrical distribution equipment.
• Proven experience leading startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Data center or mission-critical experience is highly desirable.
• Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or related qualification preferred.

Location & Travel
Based in Northern Indiana with travel between local data center sites.

The position is officially listed as requiring up to 75% travel, however the majority of travel is expected to be local site travel within approximately a one-hour radius, rather than nationwide travel.

What’s on Offer
• Opportunity to help build and lead a brand-new Field Service team.
• Work with a major global electrical equipment manufacturer.
• Support large-scale, mission-critical data center projects.
• Combination of hands-on technical work and team leadership.
• Strong long-term project pipeline across Northern Indiana.
• Opportunity for career progression as the U.S. Field Service organization continues to grow.
