Are you a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with strong hydraulic fault-finding experience? We are seeking a motivated Fixed Plant Mechanical Technician to join a leading mining operation. This is an excellent opportunity to work across innovative processing facilities while gaining exposure to emerging iron and hydrogen technologies.

About You
  • Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III Engineering Mechanical Trade or equivalent)
  • Strong experience with hydraulic fault finding, repairs and maintenance
  • Fixed plant maintenance experience within mining, processing, heavy industrial or similar environments
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical drawings
  • Safety-focused with a proactive attitude and strong problem-solving skills
The Job Role
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance across fixed plant equipment within an Iron Smelter facility
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems including pumps, motors, cylinders, valves and power units
  • Complete inspections, breakdown repairs and equipment fault finding to maximise plant reliability
  • Maintain equipment such as conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, motors, air and nitrogen systems, cooling systems and associated plant
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering and Electrical teams while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
