Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer (FPSO / Offshore Oil & Gas)
We are seeking an experienced Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer to support a major offshore oil & gas development project through detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all rotating equipment engineering activities, ensuring technical integrity, reliability, operability, safety, and compliance throughout project delivery. The role requires close collaboration with EPC contractors, equipment vendors, construction teams, and multidisciplinary engineering stakeholders.

We are seeking an experienced Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer to support a major offshore oil & gas development project through detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all rotating equipment engineering activities, ensuring technical integrity, reliability, operability, safety, and compliance throughout project delivery. The role requires close collaboration with EPC contractors, equipment vendors, construction teams, and multidisciplinary engineering stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all rotating equipment engineering activities during project execution.
- Review and oversee engineering contractor deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable standards, budget, and schedule objectives.
- Act as the focal point for rotating equipment matters across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Manage technical interfaces between rotating equipment packages and other disciplines including Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls, Technical Safety, and HVAC.
- Review and approve technical documentation including equipment datasheets, specifications, package documentation, P&IDs, layouts, and vendor deliverables.
- Support technical bid evaluations, vendor selection processes, clarification meetings, and equipment procurement activities.
- Monitor package vendor performance and participate in technical meetings, inspections, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
- Identify and resolve technical issues, risks, and design challenges throughout project execution.
- Provide engineering support during fabrication, construction, installation, and hook-up activities.
- Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, performance testing, and final system handover.
- Ensure lessons learned and continuous improvement practices are captured and implemented.
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Significant experience in rotating equipment engineering within the oil & gas, energy, petrochemical, or offshore sectors.
- Previous experience working on FPSO, offshore production, or large-scale energy projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of rotating equipment including:
- Gas compressors
- Pumps
- Gas turbines
- Steam turbines
- Driven equipment packages
- Associated auxiliary systems
- Proven experience managing package equipment vendors and reviewing detailed engineering deliverables.
- Experience participating in equipment testing, inspections, and Factory Acceptance Tests.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and engineering best practices.
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary design reviews, HAZOPs, technical workshops, and risk assessments.
- Familiarity with construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent English language skills.
- Previous FPSO project experience.
- Experience working within international project environments.
- Exposure to major EPC contractors and global equipment vendors.
- Experience leading engineering teams or acting as a discipline focal point.
- Strong interface management skills across multiple project disciplines.
