About the Role We are seeking an experienced HSE Lead to join a high-performing, multicultural team on one of Europe’s most ambitious data centre builds. This is a large-scale, high-voltage construction project where safety is paramount. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the safety culture, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement across all phases of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the identification and management of high-risk activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure proactive safety planning and coordination.
  • Champion the implementation and improvement of risk control measures.
  • Develop and maintain clear reporting and communication structures for HSE performance.
  • Evaluate site-level HSE planning through active engagement with contractors and teams.
  • Be a visible and proactive safety leader onsite — conducting audits, mentoring teams, and promoting safety excellence.
  • Design and implement the project’s safety strategy and procedures.
  • Conduct independent audits and drive corrective actions.
  • Ensure contractors maintain outstanding safety practices aligned with project and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain and enhance health and safety management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Candidate Profile We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Proven experience in a senior HSE role on large-scale construction projects (data centre, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, or high-voltage infrastructure preferred).
  • Strong contractor management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Deep understanding of European HSE regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills across diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools.
  • A collaborative mindset and passion for building trusted relationships.
  • Legal right to work in Belgium.
