About the Role As the IFEC UI/UX Program Manager, you will lead the design and development of all graphical user interface (GUI) and user experience (UX) elements across Qatar Airways’ inflight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) platforms. This includes the end-to-end management of the seatback in-flight entertainment systems (monitor and handset), connectivity portal, and related IFEC applications.

You will play a key role in shaping the passenger digital experience onboard, ensuring that every interaction aligns with Qatar Airways’ premium brand standards while incorporating best-in-class design innovation and usability principles.

The role also encompasses managing the operational and functional activities related to GUI design, customization, and implementation across both current and future aircraft fleets.

Key Accountabilities
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of intuitive, visually engaging, and brand-aligned GUI and UX solutions across all IFEC platforms and applications.

  • Evaluate emerging UI/UX technologies and methodologies, recommending enhancements to Qatar Airways’ GUI design frameworks and development standards.

  • Design user flows and interface structures for seatback IFE and personal electronic device (PED) experiences, leveraging insights from digital entertainment and OTT platform trends.

  • Ensure design consistency and seamless interaction across all IFEC touchpoints in alignment with Qatar Airways’ brand and customer experience strategy.

  • Manage stakeholder deliverables across internal teams and external OEM partners, ensuring system-specific requirements are met and project timelines maintained.

  • Lead GUI testing and validation across multiple narrow-body and wide-body platforms, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.

  • Provide strategic direction and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of design excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements, providing adequate supervision, guidance, and training where required.

Qualifications & Experience Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Design, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Minimum Experience:

  • At least 6 years’ experience in product design, development, and implementation, preferably within aviation or digital entertainment sectors.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Proven experience with IFE and connectivity systems, either with an airline or an IFEC vendor.

  • Strong understanding of multiple OEM IFE platforms and prior hands-on experience in GUI/UX development for aviation environments.

  • Advanced knowledge of UI, web, and application development for Linux and Android-based systems.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams.

  • Working knowledge of media encoding, content integration, and delivery processes.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
