Position Title: JS.CMS.002 Driver

The National Judicial Staff Services (NJSS) has initiated a major organisational restructure to strengthen its workforce and enhance the delivery of efficient, effective, and quality support services to the Judiciary and courts throughout Papua New Guinea. We invite suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated Papua New Guineans to apply for the position of Driver within the Case Management division based in Waigani.

Role Overview:
As a critical member of the Case Management team, the Driver is responsible for providing timely, secure, and confidential transportation services for the Director and staff. This role supports operational efficiency and contributes directly to the accurate and prompt recording of court proceedings by facilitating the safe movement of personnel and sensitive materials across designated locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely transport the Director and staff to court, meetings, and official engagements on schedule.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical soundness and cleanliness.
  • Schedule and coordinate regular vehicle maintenance and repairs promptly.
  • Safeguard confidential documents and materials during transit.
  • Plan efficient travel routes to optimise time and fuel consumption.
  • Maintain detailed travel and maintenance logs.
  • Respond flexibly and promptly to unscheduled transportation requests.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic and parking regulations.
  • Perform minor vehicle repairs such as oil changes or tire replacements as needed.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality, discretion, and professional behaviour at all times.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Valid Class 3 or Class 6 PNG Driver’s License.
  • At least 2 years’ driving experience in a corporate or organisational setting.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance and safety knowledge.
  • Experience driving a variety of vehicles.
  • Clean and excellent driving record.
  • Thorough knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in navigation and route planning, including GPS utilization.
  • Strong communication skills, excellent time management, and ability to perform minor vehicle repairs.
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift and load heavy luggage and packages.
  • Punctual, reliable, professional, discreet, and with clean & sober habits.
  • Team player focused on excellent customer service.
Preferred
  • Certification in defensive or professional driving training.
  • Additional experience in corporate or organisational environments.
Performance Indicators
  • 100% on-time arrivals for scheduled appointments.
  • Weekly vehicle maintenance and cleanliness checks with zero issues.
  • No incidents of confidentiality breaches or loss of documents.
  • Quarterly reductions in travel time by 5% and fuel consumption by 10%.
  • Passenger satisfaction ratings of 95% or higher.
This role requires adaptability to last-minute changes and the ability to maintain focus for extended periods. You will ensure the division’s transport operations function smoothly, securely, and professionally in support of the Judiciary’s crucial work.
