Position Title: JS.HRM.039 Training Officer - IT
Grade: NJS 12
The National Judicial Staff Services (NJSS) has initiated a major organisational restructure to strengthen its workforce and enhance the delivery of efficient, effective, and quality support services to the Judiciary and courts throughout Papua New Guinea. We invite suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated Papua New Guineans to apply for the position of Training Officer - IT within the HRD & Training unit based in HQ Waigani.
Role Overview:
The Training Officer - Information Technology is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs related to information technology (IT) within the organization. The officer collaborates with relevant stakeholders to identify IT training needs, develop relevant content and materials, and deliver training sessions to employees. This role involves staying updated on new technologies, software applications, and IT best practices to ensure the effectiveness of IT training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify training needs specific to IT by liaising with IT department leaders and analyzing system updates and changes.
- Design and develop IT training programs and schedules in consultation with the Training Coordinator.
- Create and update training materials, manuals, and other educational resources.
- Deliver training sessions both in person and via digital platforms.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training, incorporating feedback to improve future sessions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IT trends, software, and technologies.
- Assist in the management of the learning management system (LMS) specific to IT training.
- Report training outcomes and progress to the Training Coordinator.
- Provide support and guidance to employees on continued learning and application of new IT skills.
- Manage logistics for IT training sessions, including equipment, scheduling, and participant communications.
- Other duties as directed by management.
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment.
- Certifications in relevant IT areas, such as Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), instructional design and project management, may be beneficial.
- Proficiency in a wide range of IT concepts, tools, and applications.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional methodologies.
- 4 years’ experience in delivering training sessions or workshops, either in person or through virtual platforms.
- Instructional design skills to develop engaging and effective training materials.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms for managing training content.
- Problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and provide support to learners.
- Collaboration skills to work effectively with IT teams and other stakeholders.
- Patience and creativity in teaching complex IT concepts.
- Planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage learners.
- Similar to the required qualifications.
- Proficiency in various training platforms and methodologies, including virtual training environments.
