Position Title: JS.ITB.005 Project Coordinating Officer
Grade: NJS 12

The National Judicial Staff Services (NJSS) has initiated a major organisational restructure to strengthen its workforce and enhance the delivery of efficient, effective, and quality support services to the Judiciary and courts throughout Papua New Guinea. We invite suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated Papua New Guineans to apply for the position of Project Coordinating Officer within the Administration unit based in HQ - Waigani, POM.

Role Overview:
Timely and quality delivery of IT Projects within the organization Assist in coordination of tasks in project planning, procurement, implementation, and closure. Coordinating resources required for projects. Communication between the various stakeholders, both internal and external. Establish a good working relationship with other Divisions and Branches within the organization. Report back to IT Management up and coming projects within other divisions for planning purposes. Work in collaboration with the IT Branches and the Registry Database Team to ensure proper project management and roll out of court database systems for the entire organization. Report to the Director IT any issues that require their intervention, approval, or opinion. National Judicial Staff Service Act 1987 and other relevant legislation. Standard Operational Procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assists in the development of project proposals, cost estimates, budgets, timelines, and schedules.
  • Handle Projects assigned by Director IT in collaboration with the other divisional needs.
  • Assist in managing project activities right from initiation phase to successful systems commissioning of the project.
  • Assist in filing all projects documents and adhering to the Quality Management Systems standards.
  • To facilitate, document and process purchase Request. Purchase order, Delivery Order, Goods acceptance, invoice etc.
  • Assist in performing front end study, risk assessment and proposed technical solutions to meet User Operation needs.
  • Assist to prepare the necessary procurement documentation for project tenders including evaluation and awarding.
  • Ensuring all IT Projects and requirements are met and proper project governance and management procedures are adhered to depending on the approved project framework for the organization.
  • Assist in preparing Project Management Plan, and project related technical and management reports.
  • Perform other duties as required by the IT Director.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information Systems or equivalent.
  • 4 years in IT Project Management Roles.
  • Other industry certifications would be an advantage (i.e., CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, MCSE, PMP, PMBOK or similar certifications.
  • Experience delivering large IT Projects.
  • Thorough understanding of project management fundamentals.
  • Understanding of software development life cycle.

This Project Coordinating Officer role requires adaptability, sound judgement, and a strong commitment to reliable service.
