Position Title: JS.ITB.060 Network Engineer
Grade: NJS 11
The National Judicial Staff Services (NJSS) has initiated a major organisational restructure to strengthen its workforce and enhance the delivery of efficient, effective, and quality support services to the Judiciary and courts throughout Papua New Guinea. We invite suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated Papua New Guineans to apply for the position of Network Engineer within the Infrastructure unit based in HQ - Waigani, POM.
Role Overview:
Installing various network services (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS). Configuring various network services (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS). Ensuring security of network connectivity. Implementation of Network Access Policy. Establish a good working relationship with other IT teams to capture their requirements in enforcing routing rules. Ensure visions of the organization are implemented in terms of IT aspects of the vision. Report to Team Leader and Manager any issues that require escalation or their intervention, approval, or opinion. National Judicial Staff Service Act 1987 and other relevant legislation. Standard Operational Procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Installing new networking equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Configuring the installed networking equipment with appropriate Network Access policies.
- Performing preventative maintenance on networking equipment.
- Performing upgrades on NOS.
- Applying service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security fixes.
- Maintaining and monitoring computer systems on the network to ensure no security violations.
- Troubleshooting network issues.
- Creating documentation for technical support purposes.
- Assisting internal customers with network related issues.
- Logging incidents and services requests with the Helpdesk System.
- Performing other duties as directed by the Team Leader, Manager and Director IT.
- Diploma in computer science or information Systems or equivalent.
- 3 years in Networking Roles within the IT industry.
- Relevant IT/Industry experience in HP Switches and Routers.
- Relevant IT/Industry experience with Cisco Systems.
- Experience in Sophos Appliances.
- Display confidence when dealing with people, with well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- A natural collaborator and problem solver.
- Ability to adapt and adjust to changing processes, constantly seeking process improvement.
- Critical thinking and swift logical approach to problems.
- Logical thinker.
- Critical analyses of problems.

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information Systems or equivalent.
- 3 years or more experience in Networking Roles within the IT industry.
