Position Title: JS.RPC.006 Publication & Reports Officer
Grade: NJS 06
The National Judicial Staff Services (NJSS) has initiated a major organisational restructure to strengthen its workforce and enhance the delivery of efficient, effective, and quality support services to the Judiciary and courts throughout Papua New Guinea. We invite suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated Papua New Guineans to apply for the position of Publication & Reports Officer within the Registry Development & Change unit based in Waigani.
Role Overview:
This position is designed to support the Manager - Registry Development & Change by ensuring that all publications and reports accurately reflect the latest in management practices, innovations, and technologies, contributing to the institution's goal of operating at the forefront of efficiency. This role exists to bridge the gap between internal innovations and external communication, ensuring stakeholders are well-informed of the registry's advancements and achievements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of registry publications, from concept to distribution, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to support the creation of detailed reports on various aspects of the registry's operations.
  • Communicate complex data and information through clear and concise reports and publications for a range of stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of the latest technologies and practices in publishing and reporting, implementing these to improve output quality and process efficiency.
  • Coordinate with different departments to gather necessary information and insights for publications and reports.
  • Edit and proofread documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, and coherence.
  • Develop and maintain a publication schedule, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure timely release.
  • Implement feedback mechanisms for stakeholders to gauge the effectiveness of publications and reports.
  • Provide recommendations to senior management based on data analysis and report insights.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to public documents and reports.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma in Journalism, Communications, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in publishing, reporting, or a related field.
  • General knowledge of data analysis and reporting techniques.
  • Working knowledge of publishing software and tools.
  • Thorough understanding of communication principles and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred
  • Degree in a related field.
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience preferably with exposure to legal or judicial environments.
