Position Title: JS.RPC.040 LJS Liaison Officer
Grade: NJS 07
The National Judicial Staff Services (NJSS) has initiated a major organisational restructure to strengthen its workforce and enhance the delivery of efficient, effective, and quality support services to the Judiciary and courts throughout Papua New Guinea. We invite suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated Papua New Guineans to apply for the position of LJS Liaison Officer within the Stakeholder Relations unit based in Waigani.
Role Overview:
The main purpose is to liaise with Law and Justice Sector Agencies and enable effective communication between internal and external stakeholders to communicate and coordinate their activities on a matter of mutual concern.
Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain regular communication channels with law and justice sector agencies, ensuring collaboration and information sharing for judicial cooperation.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on the liaison activities, program implementations, and outcomes as per the requirements of the Registry and external agencies.
  • Review, plan, and implement key programs and activities in alignment with the organization's Corporate and Annual Plans, ensuring they meet strategic objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth research on current trends and developments within the law and justice sector to inform the development of innovative strategies and practices.
  • Oversee and ensure that all projects and work plans are executed and completed within the established timeframes.
  • Organize and conduct regular meetings with staff to discuss progress, align on the Registry's Annual Plan, and address any issues or adjustments needed.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented programs and projects against the Judiciary's corporate and annual plans, developing detailed reports on findings and recommendations for improvement.
  • Actively engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and internal teams, to ensure cohesive efforts and alignment with the Registry's goals.
  • Liaise with Law & Justice Sector Agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Perform a variety of related duties as required, including but not limited to, assisting in the coordination of judicial corporation activities, supporting the development of policy recommendations, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the law and justice sector liaison function.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma in Public Administration or related fields.
  • 3 years of experience in a liaison or partnership role within the law and justice sector.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Supreme and National Court.
  • Rules and Acts.
  • Proficiency in Registry Practice and Procedures.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
  • Computer Literate.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Law, or related field.
  • 3 years or more experience in in a similar role within the legal or judicial sector.
