Position Title: JS.RPC.044 Training Coordinator - Process & Practices
Grade: NJS 12
The National Judicial Staff Services (NJSS) has initiated a major organisational restructure to strengthen its workforce and enhance the delivery of efficient, effective, and quality support services to the Judiciary and courts throughout Papua New Guinea. We invite suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated Papua New Guineans to apply for the position of Training Coordinator - Process & Practices within the Registry Training unit based in Waigani.
Role Overview:
The Training Coordinator - Process & Practices plays a pivotal role in the judicial system's operational excellence by spearheading the educational strategies that underpin court registry functions. Reporting directly to the Manager of Registry Training, this position holds a supervisory status and is integral in shaping the competencies and professional growth of court registry staff. The essence of this role lies in its mission to elevate court operations by devising and executing specialized training programs, ensuring that court registry personnel are well-versed in procedures and best practices, thereby enhancing the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the judicial process. This job bridges the gap between the evolving demands of the judicial system and the capabilities of the court staff, ensuring that the latter are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet these demands proficiently.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute targeted training sessions, workshops, and seminars for court registry personnel.
- Conduct regular assessments to gauge training needs and program effectiveness.
- Liaise with external training providers to facilitate specialized sessions when necessary.
- Organize and manage the training calendar, ensuring all staff have access to required training without disrupting court operations.
- Develop and manage a digital repository of training materials and resources for staff access.
- Coordinate with IT to ensure effective delivery of online and in-person training programs.
- Implement feedback mechanisms to continually refine and improve training programs.
- Prepare and manage the training budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Report on training program progress and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Degree in Education, or related field.
- Certificate in Training and Development or similar.
- Minimum of 5 years in a training role, preferably within a legal or government setting.
- Working knowledge needed: Sufficient familiarity with adult learning principles and training methodologies to design effective educational programs.
- General knowledge needed: Comprehensive understanding of court operations, legal procedures, and the judicial system to ensure relevant and applicable training content.
- Thorough knowledge needed: Advanced knowledge of best practices in training and development, including the use of technology-enhanced learning tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficient in the use of educational technology and digital training platforms.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Degree in Law, Educational Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience designing and implementing training programs in a court or legal setting.
