Position Title: JS.SAM.025 Senior Sheriff Process Enforcement Officer Southern

The National Judicial Staff Services (NJSS) has initiated a major organisational restructure to strengthen its workforce and enhance the delivery of efficient, effective, and quality support services to the Judiciary and courts throughout Papua New Guinea. Role Overview:
The Senior Sheriff Process Enforcement Officer – Southern Region is a key figure within the Sheriff Enforcement unit, tasked with the direct implementation and enforcement of court orders and legal judgments within the Southern Region. This role is critical in ensuring that the mandates of the court are executed with utmost precision and integrity, supporting the overarching goals of upholding the law and maintaining public trust. The position works under the guidance of the Inspector Process Enforcement - Southern Region, playing a vital role in the operational success and efficiency of the Sheriff's Office within the designated area. Key Responsibilities
  • Enforcement of court orders and legal judgments in the Southern Region.
  • Lead, guide, and supervise field officers, ensuring adherence to legal standards.
  • Develop and enforce strict compliance protocols for all enforcement activities.
  • Foster effective communication and cooperation with regional law enforcement and judiciary entities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of enforcement operations, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on enforcement activities, challenges, and achievements.
  • Conduct regular training and briefing sessions for field officers on legal updates and enforcement tactics.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all enforcement-related queries within the region.
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate records and documentation for all enforcement actions.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma in Legal studies.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in law enforcement or legal enforcement, with significant experience in process enforcement roles.
  • Familiarity with the legal system and enforcement procedures, sufficient to guide operations and solve basic problems.
  • Broad knowledge of law enforcement tactics and strategies, essential for overseeing enforcement operations in various situations.
  • Deep understanding of the legal framework, procedural laws, and enforcement standards required to navigate complex enforcement scenarios and provide expert advice.
  • Leadership and team management.
  • Strategic planning and operational decision-making.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Ability to stay calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Preferred
  • Degree in Law, Public Administration, or related area.
  • Supervisory experience in law enforcement or legal enforcement, particularly within the Southern Region.
