Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer – Pipelines to oversee engineering and design activities on multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. You will lead a team of engineers and designers, ensuring technical excellence, stakeholder alignment, and project delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.
This role involves extensive coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders, including municipalities, provinces, water boards, suppliers, and contractors. You’ll be instrumental in shaping the technical direction of pipeline projects for energy carriers, district heating, chemicals, drinking water, and wastewater.

Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer – Pipelines to oversee engineering and design activities on multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. You will lead a team of engineers and designers, ensuring technical excellence, stakeholder alignment, and project delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.
This role involves extensive coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders, including municipalities, provinces, water boards, suppliers, and contractors. You’ll be instrumental in shaping the technical direction of pipeline projects for energy carriers, district heating, chemicals, drinking water, and wastewater.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engineering teams across pipeline projects.
- Ensure quality, scope, planning, and budget adherence, with regular reporting.
- Collaborate across disciplines on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Support proposal development and maintain client relationships to secure new work.
- Engage with public and private stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
- Develop a personal growth plan with your manager and receive coaching and support.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geotechnics, or similar.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in pipeline engineering.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, civil, and soil mechanics; offshore experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with NEN3650 and NEN3651 standards is essential.
- Proven experience in project administration, team leadership, and stakeholder management.
- Proficiency in software tools such as PLE, Wanda (Heat), CAESAR, CAROLA, SAFETI, and/or D-Geo.
- Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement.
