Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (Piping & Static Equipment Engineer) to provide technical stewardship and engineering support for piping systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, fired equipment, and other fixed assets within an LNG operating facility.
This role supports safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations through equipment integrity management, engineering evaluations, troubleshooting, maintenance support, project execution, and Management of Change (MOC) activities. The successful candidate will serve as a key resource within the Reliability Engineering function, partnering closely with Operations, Maintenance, Integrity, Projects, and external contractors to improve asset performance, reliability, safety, and operability.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for piping systems and static mechanical equipment across operating LNG facilities.
- Perform fitness-for-service evaluations and integrity assessments on pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, piping systems, and fired equipment.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for equipment reliability and operational issues.
- Support inspection, maintenance, repair, and turnaround activities for fixed assets.
- Review and approve engineering calculations, technical evaluations, equipment modifications, and repair recommendations.
- Participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes and ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards.
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
- Support capital and expense projects from concept through execution.
- Develop and review equipment strategies, specifications, procedures, and engineering documentation.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams to implement asset improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Significant experience supporting LNG facilities or comparable process industries such as:
- Natural Gas Processing
- LNG Export/Import Facilities
- Petrochemical Plants
- Refining
- Midstream Gas Facilities
- Chemical Manufacturing Facilities
- Strong background supporting operating facilities rather than solely design or EPC environments.
- Experience with piping systems and static equipment including:
- Pressure Vessels
- Heat Exchangers
- Storage Tanks
- Fired Equipment
- Piping Networks
- Experience participating in or leading Management of Change (MOC) activities.
- Proven capability troubleshooting equipment issues in a live operating environment.
- Knowledge of asset integrity and reliability practices.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
- Experience with Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) programs.
- Familiarity with API, ASME, and other applicable industry standards.
- Prior experience supporting LNG terminals or liquefaction facilities.
- Reliability Engineering experience.
- Hands-on engineer with direct operational facility experience.
- Strong communicator capable of working across Operations, Maintenance, Integrity, and Project teams.
- Proven ability to identify reliability risks and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic plant environment supporting critical fixed assets.
