MEP Lead / Manager
Our agency is looking for an MEP Lead / Manager on behalf of a hyperscale data center project in Chonburi, Thailand.
The Role
The MEP Lead / Manager will provide technical and delivery oversight for the mechanical, electrical and public health systems across the project, coordinating closely with the client, consultants, contractors and wider PMC team to ensure MEP works are delivered in accordance with design, programme, quality and safety requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead and coordinate MEP activities across design development, construction, testing and commissioning
• Review MEP design submissions, shop drawings, technical submittals, method
statements and installation proposals
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical systems with architectural, structural and specialist systems to identify and resolve design and site interfaces
• Monitor MEP installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes and project requirements
• Oversee contractor progress, installation quality, technical issues and coordination of MEP works with the overall construction programme
• Manage technical RFIs, design clarifications, non-conformances and site issues, working with relevant stakeholders to drive timely resolution
• Coordinate MEP works across critical systems and interfaces, including power distribution, cooling, HVAC, fire protection, BMS and associated infrastructure
• Monitor testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning and integrated systems testing activities, ensuring systems are properly tested and documented
• Review contractor commissioning plans, test results, inspection records and
handover documentation
• Work closely with project controls, commercial, procurement and construction teams to identify MEP-related programme, cost and delivery risks
• Provide technical updates and recommendations to project leadership and the
client, escalating critical issues where required
Requirements
• Strong MEP experience within major construction, engineering or infrastructure projects
• Strong English proficiency is essential, both written and spoken
• Good understanding of MEP design, construction, testing and commissioning
• Experience coordinating MEP contractors, consultants and multiple project
disciplines
• Data center experience is an advantage, but not essential
• Comfortable working in a fully site-based environment in Chonburi
• Willing to work 5.5 days per week, with Saturday half-days typically on a rotational basis
