About the Role We are seeking an experienced On-the-Job Training (OJT) Trainer to lead and deliver a comprehensive training programme for LNG operations and maintenance personnel. This position will play a critical role in developing the competence of operations, maintenance, and supervisory personnel through structured on-site training, coaching, assessment, and skills development activities within a major LNG environment.
The successful candidate will take ownership of planning, coordinating, and delivering a structured OJT programme, ensuring trainees achieve the competencies required to support safe and efficient LNG plant operations.

About the Role We are seeking an experienced On-the-Job Training (OJT) Trainer to lead and deliver a comprehensive training programme for LNG operations and maintenance personnel. This position will play a critical role in developing the competence of operations, maintenance, and supervisory personnel through structured on-site training, coaching, assessment, and skills development activities within a major LNG environment.
The successful candidate will take ownership of planning, coordinating, and delivering a structured OJT programme, ensuring trainees achieve the competencies required to support safe and efficient LNG plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver structured on-the-job training programmes for operations, maintenance, and supervisory personnel.
- Develop and manage training schedules, rotational plans, and competency development pathways.
- Conduct competency gap analyses and create training plans to address identified development needs.
- Establish and maintain Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and monitor trainee progression against competency frameworks.
- Provide hands-on coaching, mentoring, and competency assessments within an operational LNG environment.
- Promote a strong safety culture by embedding HSE principles, Risk Identification, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) practices into all training activities.
- Track attendance, performance, and training records, ensuring all documentation remains audit-ready and compliant.
- Liaise with operations, maintenance, engineering, and training stakeholders to ensure effective programme delivery.
- Produce regular progress reports and provide recommendations to support trainee development and programme success.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to training systems, materials, and competency assurance processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Process/Chemical) or a related technical discipline.
- Recognised Train-the-Trainer, instructional design, competency assessor, or equivalent training certification.
- OPITO Assessor certification or equivalent competency assessment qualification.
- Minimum 15 years' experience within LNG Operations and/or Maintenance environments.
- At least 5 years' experience in a senior training, competency assurance, or OJT leadership role.
- Strong understanding of LNG plant operations, maintenance disciplines, and competency management systems.
- Experience supporting commissioning, start-up, or early operational phases of large-scale energy projects is highly desirable.
