About the Opportunity NES Fircroft is seeking experienced and motivated Pipe Fitters to support upcoming works associated with the Papua LNG Project in Papua New Guinea.

This opportunity is exclusively available to PNG Nationals and is aimed at skilled tradespeople with previous experience in LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, major construction or similar heavy industrial environments.

Successful candidates will work as part of a multidisciplinary construction team and will be expected to perform pipe fitting activities safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities As a Pipe Fitter, your responsibilities will include:

• Read and interpret piping drawings, isometrics, P&IDs and general arrangement drawings.
• Measure, mark, cut, prepare, fit and assemble piping systems and associated components.
• Install and align pipework, flanges, valves, fittings, supports and associated piping components.
• Prepare piping assemblies and joints for welding in accordance with approved specifications and procedures.
• Complete bolt-up and flange alignment activities as required.
• Check pipe orientation, levels, dimensions and alignment against drawings and specifications.
• Assist with piping installation, testing, reinstatement and mechanical completion activities.
• Identify and report damaged, incorrect or non-conforming materials and components.
• Use hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment safely and correctly.
• Coordinate with welders, riggers, supervisors and other trades to complete piping works efficiently.
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure work areas remain clean and safe.
• Participate in pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and other project safety activities.
• Follow all site Health, Safety, Security and Environment requirements.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by the Piping Supervisor or Superintendent.

Qualifications & Experience Candidates should ideally have:

• Recognised trade qualification or relevant technical/vocational training in pipe fitting, mechanical fitting or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as a Pipe Fitter within LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, processing or major industrial construction projects.
• Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel and/or other process piping systems.
• Ability to read and understand piping isometrics and construction drawings.
• Good understanding of pipe preparation, fit-up, flange alignment and piping installation practices.
• Familiarity with safe lifting, manual handling and working around rigging operations.
• Ability to use relevant measuring equipment and pipe fitting tools.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multicultural and multidisciplinary project team.
• Previous LNG or major oil & gas project experience will be highly regarded.

Mandatory Requirements Applicants must:

• Be a Papua New Guinea Citizen / National.
• Hold valid identification and supporting documentation confirming PNG citizenship.
• Hold relevant trade certificates or competency documentation where applicable.
• Be willing to work at designated project locations within Papua New Guinea.
• Be willing and able to work the project roster and scheduled working hours.
• Be medically fit to perform the inherent requirements of the role and successfully complete applicable pre-employment medical requirements.
• Comply with all project alcohol and other drug, safety, security and site access requirements.
