About the Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading international engineering and construction contractor, supporting the delivery of a major Data Centre project in the UK.

Our client is an established provider of integrated Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering solutions, delivering complex projects across sectors including Data Centres, Energy, Power, Renewables, Pharmaceutical and other high-specification environments.

With a strong presence across the UK and Europe, the organisation has an established track record of delivering large-scale, technically complex projects for major international clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing Data Centre team and take ownership of the commercial and contractual elements of a major project.

The Role As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have responsibility for managing the commercial and contractual requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and taking ownership of the commercial and contractual requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Acting as a key interface with the Client's Commercial and Contract teams.
  • Managing project procurement, including subcontractor engagement and management.
  • Conducting detailed cost and risk analysis.
  • Reviewing incoming correspondence from the Employer, Design Team and subcontractors, identifying contractually critical matters and initiating appropriate responses.
  • Managing the commercial aspects of subcontractor packages.
  • Preparing and managing project costing, margin and cashflow reports.
  • Managing project change control procedures and agreeing associated costs with the client.
  • Supporting the wider project team to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Monitoring project performance against budget, programme and contractual requirements.
About You The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • A third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience working as a Project Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
  • Previous experience working on large-scale construction or engineering projects.
  • Strong civil engineering experience.
  • Previous experience within electrical and/or mechanical engineering environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • The ability to prioritise workload effectively and work to demanding deadlines.
  • The confidence and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong subcontractor and client management skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a high-performing project team.

The Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong M&E and/or construction experience to join an established international contractor and play a key role in the commercial delivery of a major Data Centre project.
