Rigs & Stimulation Vessels Inspection Specialist Location: Offshore / Onshore (as required)
Function: Drilling & Completion Assurance
Reporting To: Head of Inspection & Services Quality

Role Purpose Responsible for conducting technical inspections and operational readiness assessments of drilling/workover rigs and well stimulation vessels. The role ensures equipment integrity, regulatory compliance, certification validity, and safe operational readiness prior to mobilization and during operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-mobilization, acceptance, readiness, periodic, and ad-hoc inspections of rigs and stimulation vessels.
  • Inspect drilling, well-control, high-pressure stimulation, lifting, electrical, and safety-critical equipment.
  • Verify equipment certifications, maintenance records, NDT reports, calibration records, and pressure testing status.
  • Assess compliance with API, ISO, ASME, DNV/ABS, OEM, and industry standards.
  • Identify operational risks, non-conformities, and equipment deficiencies, recommending corrective actions.
  • Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, operating procedures, risk assessments, and maintenance documentation.
  • Monitor closure of inspection findings and verify corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and provide equipment readiness recommendations.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Marine, Petroleum, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of oil & gas experience with significant exposure to drilling/workover rigs, stimulation vessels, or well services.
  • Strong knowledge of well-control systems, high-pressure equipment, lifting equipment, and equipment integrity management.
  • Experience in technical inspection, maintenance, commissioning, or operational assurance.
  • Good understanding of API, ISO, ASME, DNV/ABS standards and inspection requirements.
  • Offshore certifications (BOSIET/FOET, Medical, etc.) preferred.
Preferred Certifications
  • Well Control Certification.
  • LEEA or equivalent lifting inspection qualification.
  • CompEx or Hazardous Area certification.
  • NDT, Pressure Equipment Inspection, or Dropped Object Prevention training.

  • Inspection and readiness reports.
  • Equipment certification verification records.
  • Non-conformance and punch-list tracking.
  • Corrective action verification reports.
  • Final recommendation on rig/vessel operational readiness.
