We are currently recruiting a Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer (HAZOP) for our valued client in Perth CBD on a rolling contract basis.

Duration / Schedule:
- Initial 6-month contract, through to end of 2026, with potential 12-month extension for 2027
- Monday to Friday, 40-hour week
- Office-based role, with WFH flexibility to be agreed
- Approximate role split:
- 50% participation in HAZOP, LOPA and AOA workshops (3-4 week blocks)
- 50% Operations support, including MoC, TSRs and action close-out
- Strong background in control systems and instrumentation engineering
- Knowledge of process control strategies and ESD/SIS Cause & Effect (C&E) logic
- Familiarity with Yokogawa CENTUM VP and/or HIMA SILworx highly regarded
- Experience supporting risk assessments and action close-out
- Ability to interpret and challenge control narratives, interlocks, trips, alarms, setpoints, operating ranges and associated safeguards
- Ability to assess whether I&C safeguards are suitable, independent, effective and auditable for LOPA credits inline with the Company Guideline
- Proficient in reviewing control system and instrumentation documentation
- Ability to identify gaps, weaknesses or unclear assumptions in existing controls and safeguards, and recommend practical engineering actions for close-out
- Support review and update of supporting documentation where required, including control narratives, C&Es, alarm documentation, setpoints, ranges and functional narratives
- Minimum 10 years’ Instrument & Control Engineering experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with an Oil & Gas Operator
- Proven experience participating as the I&C representative in HAZOP, LOPA and AOA workshops
- TÜV, or equivalent, Functional Safety certification mandatory
- Experience supporting Operations in brownfield environments highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience supporting Management of Change (MoC), including technical reviews, risk input and implementation support, highly desirable
- Experience with exida ExSILentia desirable, training available if required
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including process, safety, operations and maintenance personnel
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to contribute clearly to technical and risk-based discussions
