Senior Safety Technician ( Inspection)

NES is working with an oil and gas client in Qatar to hire a Senior Safety Technician to participate in the implementation of the safety management programme. 
This role is working closely with the Safety Officer. 

  • Conduct scheduled safety inspections across assigned facilities and locations, verifying plant safety equipment readiness and overall site conditions.
  • Prepare written inspection reports for the Safety Officer and support prompt close-out of corrective actions.
  • Monitor gas testing by Operations and carry out gas tests independently when required; interpret results and recommend safe actions.
  • Support initial incident/accident investigations, issue written reports, and secure the area in the event of serious incidents until the investigation team arrives.
  • Assist with maintenance and record-keeping for safety equipment (e.g., H₂S sensors, gas detectors, breathing apparatus sets, stock levels).
  • Monitor the Permit to Work (PTW) system and report any unsafe practices or violations.
  • Participate in site safety meetings and provide on-site HSE advice to maintenance and construction teams.
  • Provide safety standby coverage for critical work (e.g., vessel entry/confined space and hot work).
  • Assist with first aid response as required (within training and authorization).

Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum of 8 years related experience, preferably in a petrochemical environment
  • Completed Secondary School Education (12 years).
  • English proficiency – Level 6 (minimum).
  • Completed two (2) years of training in a technical discipline (trade/technical training).
  • Completed a recognised Safety Management course.
  • Valid Qatar driving licence (mandatory).
