An innovative engineering and technology organisation at the forefront of industrial decarbonisation is seeking a Senior Specialist Engineer – Carbon Capture Technology to play a key role in advancing next-generation carbon capture solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced specialist to drive technology development, influence strategic innovation programmes, and support the delivery of cutting-edge carbon capture projects globally.
The Role
As a recognised subject matter expert, you will lead the development of carbon capture and CO₂ conditioning technologies, supporting both product development and project execution. Working closely with technical, commercial and project teams, you will help define technology strategy, lead research and innovation initiatives, and provide expert guidance across the organisation

The Role
As a recognised subject matter expert, you will lead the development of carbon capture and CO₂ conditioning technologies, supporting both product development and project execution. Working closely with technical, commercial and project teams, you will help define technology strategy, lead research and innovation initiatives, and provide expert guidance across the organisation
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and execution of carbon capture technology strategy.
- Lead and support research, development and innovation programmes.
- Provide technical expertise for studies, projects and product development activities.
- Review and enhance technical specifications, methodologies and procedures.
- Mentor and develop engineers and technology specialists.
- Engage with customers and external partners to support business growth and project delivery.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and intellectual property development.
- MSc, PhD or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years' relevant industry experience.
- Strong expertise in carbon capture technologies, particularly amine-based post-combustion capture and/or gas treatment, CO₂ compression, liquefaction and handling.
- Experience leading R&D or innovation programmes.
- Demonstrated success in translating research and development into commercial or industrial applications.
- Knowledge of process design, plant operations and troubleshooting would be advantageous.
- Fluent English communication skills.
