Site Escort / Gas Tester – 4 Week project
Taranaki | 12-hour shifts | Short-term contract | Starts 5th October 2026
Looking for a short-term role that’s a little different from the usual shutdown work?
We’re looking for two switched-on, safety focused people to join a four-week workover project at a major energy facility in Taranaki.
This is a hands-on, active role supporting safe movement of heavy vehicles through a live industrial site. You’ll be escorting trucks through the facility by mountain bike, checking routes are clear, assisting with gas testing requirements and helping ensure vehicles move safely in and out of the work area.
There’s plenty of riding involved – including decent hills, so you need to be physically fit, comfortable on a bike and happy working outdoors in changing weather conditions.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll ideally already hold NZQA Unit Standard 3058 – Demonstrate knowledge of gas testing, and perform gas tests in an energy and chemical plant. However, training can be provided for the right people.
We’re looking for people who are reliable, strong communication, safety-conscious, physically fit and switched on, with the confidence to work independently in a busy industrial environment.
Previous shutdown, oil & gas, energy, construction or industrial-site experience is advantageous, but attitude and reliability are just as important.
This is an ideal opportunity if you’re in-between projects, looking to pick up for weeks of solid work, or simply keen to do something a bit different.
If you’re available from the 5th of October for 4 weeks, I’d love to hear from you.
