Position: SPS Tie-In Connection and Structures Engineer
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at Contractor engineering centre for project execution
Status: Residential
Duration: 12 months renewable
Start date: October 2026

The service holder will be responsible for subsea tie-in connection and structures engineering activities, technical matters and studies related to the deepwater greenfield project, as part of the SPS team.
The Service Provider will lead tie-in and structures engineering activities and support procurement, fabrication, testing, installation and pre-commissioning of tie-in systems and SPS structures.
The Service Provider will support the SPS Technical Manager and liaise with other packages as required (SURF, FPSO, Drilling).

ACTIVITIES
1. Provide H3SE&Q and assurance Services so to implement and control H3SE rules and requirements within his area of responsibility. Ensure all technical documentation and SPS Contractor activities comply with H3SE&Q requirements and highlight any potential deviations. Ensure safe working practices are implemented along all phases of project.
2. Provide support services to ensure compliance with the Company Ethics and “Code of Conduct” policy, to promote and to enforce the Anti-Corruption Program within the Project
3. Ensure technical integrity, fitness for purpose, and compliance of all tie-in connection systems with Project, Company, contractual, and international requirements.
4. Manage and coordinate engineering of subsea tie-in systems, including rigid/flexible jumpers, hubs, connectors, tie-in tools, and associated interfaces.
5. Review and approve Contractor and Supplier deliverables related to tie-in systems, including drawings, procedures, installation analyses, and tolerances.
6. Validate installation methodologies, including tie-in procedures, alignment strategies, and offshore installation sequences.
7. Review and challenge Contractor studies related to installation feasibility, metrology, tolerances, and operability of connections.
8. Provide technical input to fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning procedures for subsea connections.
9. Support offshore readiness by ensuring that tie-in systems meet installation and operability requirements.
10. Review and approve subsea structures (including foundations) engineering deliverables, including structural design, geotechnical interfaces, fabrication, inspection and testing programmes, and installation analyses. Collaborate with SURF structural engineer on topics related to subsea structures and foundations deliverables.
11. Coordinate and manage all interface activities related to tie-in connections and subsea structures between SPS, SURF, and FPSO packages.
12. Follow up and close technical queries (TQs), deviations, and derogations related to connection systems and subsea structures.
13. Participate in key Project reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, design reviews, constructability reviews) with focus on interfaces and installation risks.
14. Monitor Contractor performance related to engineering, QA/QC, and H3SE compliance for connections and subsea structures scopes.
15. Support change management, risk assessments, and mitigation actions and capture and report lessons learned.
16. Assist and support the Technical Manager and the Subsea Manager on all aspects during execution and contracts management, and with the relations with Partners.
17. Coordinate with other Team Members including the SPS contract engineer for the follow-up of correspondence and contract activities throughout Project Execution
18. Demonstrate strong leadership in HSE behaviours, particularly for offshore installation and connection operations.
19. Ensure that all Services provided comply with  HSE programmes (Golden Rules, Life-Saving Rules).
CONTEXT & ENVIRONMENT
The field is an ultra-deepwater development (~3,000 m water depth), producing oil through subsea production systems tied back to an FPSO. The development includes multiple wells, subsea production systems, extensive SURF infrastructure, and complex tie-in connection activities requiring precise interface management between SPS, SURF, and FPSO systems.
International and multi-cultural environment with multiple Contractors and fabrication sites worldwide.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Qualification: Master’s degree in engineering and strong experience in SPS TIe In Connection Engineering
• Languages: English
• Professional Experience: Recent and relevant experience with major SPS Contractor and/or SURF Contractor covering detailed design, fabrication, installation, and offshore tie-in execution in deepwater environment. Strong experience in subsea tie-in connection systems (horizontal and vertical, rigid and flexible systems) and interface engineering (jumpers, connectors, hubs, installation tooling) and experience with subsea structures.
• Experience within project: at least 15 years in large offshore oil & gas subsea environment / projects.
• Additional features:

Good knowledge of relevant codes, and preferably of General Specifications, procedures and policies.
