Technical Writer Interview Process: In-person, 2 hours

- 1st hour: Writing sample
- 2nd hour: Panel interview
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and update operating procedures, maintenance procedures, work instructions, technical manuals, training materials, and engineering documents.
- Work with engineers, operations, maintenance teams, and SMEs to translate complex technical information into clear documentation.
- Review and revise existing documents for accuracy, consistency, safety, and compliance.
- Support document control, version management, change management, and approval workflows.
- Ensure documentation meets company standards and industry/regulatory requirements.
- 10+ years in petrochemical, refining, or industrial manufacturing environments.
- 6–8 years of technical writing experience supporting engineering, operations, maintenance, or capital projects.
- 6+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience with process equipment such as:
- Pumps and valves
- Reactors
- Distillation/stack columns
- Heat exchangers
- Other process unit equipment
- Strong knowledge of refinery/petrochemical process units, operating procedures, equipment systems, and terminology.
- 5+ years of experience with each: Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and TruView.
- Strong experience with editing, proofreading, document control, and document management.
- Ability to interview SMEs and turn complex technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
