Topsides Structural & Weight Control Engineer Location: International Assignment (Europe and Asia)
Contract Type: Long-term Contract

Overview We are seeking an experienced Topsides Structural & Weight Control Engineer to support the delivery of a major offshore floating production development through the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and installation phases.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring structural integrity, weight management, and compliance across topside facilities while working within a multidisciplinary international project team.

Overview We are seeking an experienced Topsides Structural & Weight Control Engineer to support the delivery of a major offshore floating production development through the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and installation phases.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring structural integrity, weight management, and compliance across topside facilities while working within a multidisciplinary international project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate structural engineering deliverables including:
- Structural calculations and reports
- Structural drawings and models
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA/FEM) studies
- Lifting and transportation analyses
- Monitor and manage topsides weight control activities, including:
- Weight tracking and reporting
- Centre of Gravity (CoG) monitoring
- Compliance with marine and structural limitations
- Support structural design reviews throughout project execution.
- Coordinate with process, piping, layout, marine, naval architecture, and construction disciplines to ensure alignment of design requirements.
- Participate in multidisciplinary project reviews including model reviews and risk assessment workshops.
- Manage technical queries, deviations, concession requests, and engineering changes related to structural and weight control matters.
- Liaise with EPC contractors, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and best practices.
- Maintain traceability of structural and weight-related decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Promote strong HSE performance and compliance with project safety requirements.
- Degree in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of offshore structural engineering experience.
- Proven experience on FPSO, floating production, offshore platform, or large-scale offshore energy projects.
- Strong background in topsides structural design and weight control.
- Experience working within EPC/EPCI/EPSCC project environments.
- Previous exposure to contractor and client-side project execution teams is advantageous.
- Understanding of offshore structural analysis methods and engineering practices.
- Familiarity with recognised international codes and standards, including:
- API
- ISO
- Eurocodes
- Marine Classification Society Rules
- Experience with structural analysis software and weight management systems.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proactive approach to problem solving and stakeholder management.
- Excellent organisational and technical reporting skills.
